Wow, "We're going out on a 30-day mission throughout Afghanistan and I'm personally not sure how it's going to pan out", is such an amazing thing to do.

I believe that the most amazing thing though is that you have taken such a great amount of time and energy to document it for all of us.

This gives us an incredible look at what is happening.

I wish you guys the best of luck but there's one aspect that you failed to mention. The contractors that are here in support of the troops. Maybe you should throw one or two in there because we endure the same motar fire, rocket attacks and IEDs that the military do and we do it without weapons. We're the unarmed troops... LOL

Ken,

I like it... sounds like one tough, experienced Combat Videographer-Journalist to me! I wish you guys the best of luck. You have a lot of gound to cover under very serious and dangerous circumstances. Alot diverse stories to document from people in all facets of this war. I pray a hedge of protection over both of you and that you are given the ability to reach the goals you have set for this mission.

Hugs For Troops
Linda,

Don't worry...I'll have Nate's back! People tend to "whoop" on you less when there is a video camera pointing at them. smilies/grin.gif

Nathan,
Apologize for delayed response. Hey if you decide to try "bear hugging" some of our troops... as you go to hug them... maybe you should yell out, "Your mother asked me to give you a h-u-gggg!" Then after the "whooping" takes place, you can know you did it "all for the love of a mother." After all, it will be a small risk compare to the scope of what you are taking on. I hope your paths cross. Again, thank you for working to "put a real face to our troops."

Hi Linda!
I think we're going to start a list of names of service members to say hi to while we're out! I'm not sure how the they would react if some random Airman ran up and gave them a giant hug though smilies/smiley.gif I might get something wooped!

My son, SPC Larry Carter, Combat Medic is there with 82nd ABN, 4th BCT, 2-508 PIR, Charlie Co. 1.
This is a awesome undertaking. I wish we our manistream media was able to "put more of a face to+ our troops fighting in Astan, so that more people in our nation better understood the challenges our troops face daily and the incredible sacrifices that are being made to secure our freedom. Often, I think many people forget that there are two wars in which our men and women in uniform are fighting. My son is a combat medic with the 82nd Airborne, 4th Brigade, 2-508 Parachute Infantry Regiment, Charlie Co, 1st Platoon... if you happen to have the chance to "catch up" with him, let him know how very proud we are of him and much love is sent from home. Thanks for taking on this mission, I look forward to following along in our journey. Linda Carter
